It is bittersweet, my kids have grown so much since we have been here. Morgan is now a middle schooler, she is turning into a young woman. Brenna isn't a baby anymore, she is now a young girl. I look back at our photos from when they got there and they were so little. Also, this is the place they have been the longest in their life. They attended 3 grades here, danced in 3 classes, made friends for 3 years.
And while I cannot wait to move on from here I am sure when I get back I will look back on some things fondly. I am sure there will be things here we miss, the friends we have made, the German countryside. There is plently I will not miss...the biggest being Ramstein AB. This place is crazy and has in turn, driven me a bit crazy.
So anyhow, our last Christmas in Germany. We have already done a couple Christmas markets and I am doing a girls only one next week. Morgan is dancing in the Nutcracker. We attending the work Christmas party. We will have to facetime to see our family this Christmas. Next Christmas, that is not the case! We will see them in person.
Next Monday our list comes out. The list I have been waiting for. It will show us where we can go next. We will pick from that list and hope the Air Force agrees with us and sends us someplace we picked. We will find out our assignment sometime in Jan/Feb timeframe. This is the exciting part for military families. This next place is where my daughter will graduate high school. Where they both will make their best friends. Where we plan to buy a house. This next place with be home for a while. Its exciting and scary to not know where I will be in 6 months. 6 months...and we are outa here. 6 months might seem like a long time but doing a move overseas is a long process. We will start the process in early spring. Then the time is going to fly by.
Germany, its been great. I am thankful for what experiences we have enjoyed here. But there is something with being back in the good ole US Of A.
Also, please keep my brother in your prayers as he is deployed again for another Christmas away from his family.
